Omaha Track is looking for Rail Yard Laborers to join our rail yard in Millard, Omaha, Nebraska. The Rail Yard Laborer is responsible for performing physical labor, such as cutting, sorting, and moving materials throughout the rail yard.  This position works outdoors year-round, in all weather elements and extreme temperatures.

Major Areas of Responsibility 

• Utilize a hand operated rail saw to cut rail as instructed 

• Sort and move miscellaneous railroad materials, ties, tie plates, joint bars, anchors, etc. 

• Perform general maintenance and upkeep on all company property and equipment utilized 

• Participate in all job briefings and conduct proper radio communications 

• Practice proper housekeeping with clean, properly maintained vehicles, tools, and equipment 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Previous general labor experience is a plus but is not required 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred 

• Demonstrate intermediate mechanical and basic mathematical skills & effective communication skills. 

• Effective listening skills, including the ability to interpret, document, and follow oral instructions 

• Valid driver’s license preferred. 

Work Requirements 

• Understand and accurately interpret/follow laws, rules, regulations, and other railroad/Omaha Track guidelines 

• Ability to operate a hand operated rail saw for prolonged periods of time 

• Ability to work outdoors in a rail yard environment subject to all elements and conditions

Omaha Track Equipment, an established Omaha based company, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our growing organization in the fast-paced heavy equipment industry.  Major Responsibilities: 

• Perform Shop repairs and maintenance on hi-rail trucks, cranes, and other equipment. 

• Emphasis on diagnosing and repairing/rebuilding diesel engines. 

• Troubleshoot, rebuild, & repair hydraulic, pneumatic, transmission, clutches, electrical components & systems. 

• Plan methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs. 

• Diagnose and evaluate problems with equipment; make repairs in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education is preferred 

• Valid driver’s license required (must not have any major driving offenses within the last three years) 

• Class A or Class B CDL is preferred, but not required 

• Ability to diagnose, repair/rebuild diesel engines. 

• Strong mechanical background, with the ability to demonstrate proficiency for all required skill sets and 

        effectively troubleshoot problems on new assembly and/or repair work on older equipment 

• Must work well with others on a team, while still being able to complete tasks independently 

• Effective written & verbal communication skills 

• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and strong mathematical skills 

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and effectively manage multiple tasks/job assignments per day
